Trustees
The Burwood Preschool is run by an active and dedicated committee formed of parents whose children are or have attended the preschool, and local community members. The committee is a voluntary team but without it, we cannot legally function as a preschool. We take responsibility for a wide range of functions, and work closely with the staff to ensure that together we make the preschool the success story it is today.

Kirsty Hammatt - Chairperson
I am associated with the Preschool as a parent, all 3 of my children have attended Burwood Preschool since 2013.
I work in HR and have currently finished my degree.
I work closely with the Preschool Manager and other committee members to ensure Burwood Preschool continues to deliver the high standard of care to all of the children who attend the Preschool

Kate Pavier - Vice Chair
I’m a Mum to two little ones. My son recently graduated from Burwood and my daughter currently attends the Preschool. I volunteered for the committee as I really wanted to give back to the Preschool that has been so wonderful and kind to my children.
As Vice Chairperson I work with the Chairperson, Preschool Manager, and other Committee Members to support the preschool as needed.
Clare Warne - Secretary
My children attended Burwood Preschool when it was based at St Peter's Church and were very happy. Parents were encouraged to be involved, so as well as helping in the preschool, we were able to make a network of new friends.
In my professional life I worked in the Teams for Disabled Children in both Surrey & Royal Borough of Kingston providing respite breaks for families with disabled children.
Esther Booth - Treasurer
I live in Cobham with my family and a Mum to 1 child aged 10.
I currently work as the Secretary in a Pre-Prep School in Leatherhead and regularly help out during the summer fete., I have previous experience working in accounts.
I am the new Treasurer and my role is to ensure that all income and expenditure is dealt with in a business like manner.
I have to report to the Charity Commissions to make sure all the figures we provide are penny accurate to allow us to apply for Charitable Funding.
Karen Bearman - Trustee
I moved to Hersham with my family in Dec 2020 and have a very happy daughter at Burwood Preschool. I have worked in the charity sector for over 14 years, and I am currently Head of Ambassadors at WWF. I’m excited to get to know the Burwood community and to support the Preschool to continue to develop and thrive.
Jenn Parker - Trustee
I live in Hersham with my husband and two young children. My son attends Burwood Preschool and my daughter is due to start soon.
I am passionate about childcare having previously worked as a nanny and am excited to support Burwood as a trustee.
Kgale Glynn - Trustee
We recently moved to Hersham and I joined Burwood Preschool as a trustee after my daughter attended the setting. Having an extensive knowledge of the education sector, after working in Education Recruitment for over 10 years, I wanted to utilise my experience and give back to the sector and community I’m so passionate about.
