My son was given a place at a school nursery; however, I decided to keep him in forest school for one more year as he loves it there so much.

"My son was unhappy in his childcare setting and struggled to separate from me in the morning. Now, he bounces in every day and comes home full of tales of his adventures, plastered in a layer of mud and a huge smile. All the teachers know him so well. You really get the sense that he is known and loved. Forest School has been such an incredible opportunity for us, and we're so pleased to have made the effort to travel here. We are so thankful to the whole team who go above and beyond. I couldn't recommend a childcare setting more. We don't want to leave to go to school!"

"My 3-year-old has been at forest school since September, he loves it there and always comes out happy and worn out from all the outside adventures! (Bedtimes are very quick on forest school days 😴 )

There’s also a lovely indoor space for when the weather gets a bit too wild! 

He started off one day a week, but loved it so much we upped it to another day! 

All the staff there are so lovely and made him feel at home from the start.

We’ll miss it so much when he starts school next year!"

"Our twin girls absolutely love attending forest school. They come home muddy, happy, full of stories, and excited for the next session. The teachers and staff are incredibly supportive, caring, and genuinely passionate about what they do, creating such a warm and encouraging environment for the children. There is a wonderful sense of community, with lovely activities throughout the year that also involve parents and families. It’s clear how proud the team are of the school, and they have every reason to be."

"My son has been attending Burwood Forest School for the past 6 months and has absolutely loved it since day 1. The staff are always friendly, smiley and approachable, and keep us updated on their progress, as well as photos of what they have been doing that week. He loves spending time outdoors, come rain or shine, and constantly amazes me with things he has learnt there, such as the names of trees, plants, flowers and bugs. He has made some lovely friendships, and almost every morning asks if it’s a forest school day. He regularly comes home covered in mud from head to toe, a sign of a good day in my book! "

"My daughter attends both preschool and forest school setting. Beyond happy with both settings, and each and every staff member is incredible. The forest school setting has an unbelievable space and endless resources; my daughter absolutely loves coming here. She’s definitely young, wild, and free and being in this setting gives her all the freedom she craves….and all the mud! They say it takes a village to raise a child, and burwood our definitely mine. Couldn’t thank them enough :) "

"It was great watching him walk in today, so happy, I didn't even get a kiss!! It was even better seeing him come out even happier and with biscuits and crafts that he'd made with you. He was extremely happy munching biscuits on the way home and still had time to be vocal, trying hard to sing along to nursery rhymes in the car!"

"When my son started Burwood Preschool, he had a serious speech disorder using only Makaton sign language to communicate. The staff went on training courses to be able to communicate with him as well as to teach the other children Makaton too, so he was able to feel included!! They all did amazing work with him, and now my daughter goes there!! Highly recommend."

"The best recommendation is to see the children as they come out of that nursery, happy skipping and laughing they are, the children all go in very happy and the staff there are so helpful so kind so considerate and this is what is most important about a nursery, just to look at the children that come out they look like they've had a really good day every day, I totally recommend this nursery! as a grandmother of 11 grandchildren my only wish that all my 11 grandchildren go to this nursery. "Our daughter Hope has attended Burwood since Sept 14 and we have been delighted with the preschool during this time. The staff really care about the children and the communication is excellent as all of the staff take the time to give feedback on how Hope is getting on and reassure me as a Mum. If Hope has been upset when I have left her they always phoned to let me know that she is OK. When she first started I was extremely touched when I arrived to pick her up one day a member of staff called me in without Hope's knowledge so that I could see that not only was she absolutely fine but singing her heart out during song time!"

"Burwood is a mainstream playgroup however Hope has some medical issues and developmental delay as a result of being born extremely prematurely and so finding a pre-school that met her needs and where we were confident leaving her was particularly important to us. We have been amazed at how much Hope has progressed developmentally since she has been at there especially with her speech and Jo, the dedicated Special Needs Co-ordinator and keyworker for Hope has always ensured that she has the support she needs in place without me having to ask. Above all, in our experience Burwood Preschool is a happy place for children to be and we would have no hesitation in recommending it. So pleased with Burwood even after such a short time. I know it's hard cramming things into his one session but you're clearly making sure he gets involved in the activities!"
